Bonfire Social

Bonfire Social is a federated social app built for people and communities who care about autonomy, meaningful connection, and healthy online spaces. It offers familiar features like feeds and profiles — but goes further with powerful tools for customization, moderation, and control, so you can shape your digital space to fit your needs. Bonfire Social is also a gateway into the broader fediverse — a network of independent, interconnected apps — while staying fully self-hostable and community-governed.

What is included

Custom feeds
Build ad-hoc feeds with a simple interface: filter and sort by content type, circle, date, engagement, source instance, and more. Save presets and arrange them however you like.
Circles
Circles are lists of people (e.g., “local friends”, “team”, “mutual aid crew”). Each circle has its own feed with posts from members.
Boundaries
Choose who can see, reply, quote, or even edit a post. For example: make a post public but accept replies only from a specific circle. Boundaries are compatible with GoToSocial interaction controls and Mastodon quote authorisations.
Your data, your freedom

Moving between instances shouldn't mean starting from scratch. Seamlessly migrate your entire social presence (including posts, follows, circles, and bookmarks) with Bonfire's comprehensive import tools and migration dashboard.

Connect beyond boundaries

Join a network of millions across Mastodon, PeerTube, Mobilizon, and the wider fediverse using ActivityPub. Protocol bridges also connect you with Bluesky and beyond, breaking down walls between social platforms.
